You learn a lot running after four kids and a spaniel every weekend — mainly that life rarely sticks to the plan.

It’s noisy, it’s busy, someone’s always lost a shoe… and the dog’s already halfway across the field. But it’s also a great reminder of how important it is to have some calm in the chaos — especially when it comes to making big life decisions.

I live in Tiverton, Devon with my wife, our four wonderful (and wonderfully energetic) children, and our cocker spaniel — a lively little character who thinks every walk is a race. Life at home is full of movement, laughter, and the occasional muddy footprint, and my wife and I make a great team juggling the day-to-day with a good dose of humour (and plenty of coffee). We’re both big believers in getting outdoors and keeping active, so weekends often revolve around junior parkrun, long countryside walks, and cheering from the sidelines.

Before stepping into financial services, I spent 17 years as an aerospace engineer. It was a career that demanded precision, responsibility, and a healthy appreciation for getting things right the first time — not unlike mortgages, come to think of it. Problem-solving, being thorough, staying calm under pressure… those are all habits I carried with me into this next chapter.

It was an unexpected life event that made me take stock. Like many people, I found myself facing something I hadn’t planned for. And it made me realise just how important the right advice, the right protection, and the right support can be — especially when life throws you a curveball. That’s what led me to retrain, qualify with my CeMAP Level 3, and start a new career where I could help people feel more secure and in control of their future.

These days, I work with individuals, couples, and families to help them navigate their mortgage and protection options with confidence — and without the jargon or pressure. I’m a big believer in keeping things clear, calm, and human. Whether it’s a first home, a remortgage, or making sure your loved ones are protected, I’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and support you every step of the way.

And if we happen to share a laugh or two along the way, all the better. Mortgages might not be exciting, but they’re a big deal — and they’re always better handled with a steady hand and a sense of humour.
